Envolve Award USA Winners Respond to COVID-19

 

May 27, 2020 – Across the globe, COVID-19 has caused severe disruptions in the way we live, work, and communicate. We know that small business owners and entrepreneurs in the United States have been particularly hard hit by the pandemic, as witnessed by the oversubscription to federal and private relief programs. Throughout this pandemic, we have been inspired by founders’ stories of ingenuity and resilience, especially amongst our three cohorts of Envolve Award USA Winners. We are so proud to see their ability to reinvent themselves during COVID-19, creating a greater impact in the communities they operate in. 

ARVISL Future: SAVR App uses digital platforms to connect people wherever they are and make their experience more interesting, engaging, and fun. COVID-19 has helped the team realize that adding a virtual reality experience onto the platform would be a good addition, and SAVR now is building one for a popular Miami tourist shopping plaza!

CourtBuddy: CourtBuddy is utilizing their legal expertise to assist individuals & small businesses with their legal questions surrounding  COVID-19. They have added an extensive resource directory to their website and have a toll free help hotline at 866-999-9297. They also hosted a free online legal meetup where anyone could call in and ask a lawyer for guidance on their COVID-related legal issues. 

FilmConnx: FilmConnx has been posting helpful COVID – related resources and articles that relate to the film industry. Their latest resource is a TV screenwriting live training with Emmy nominated & Award winning writer, producer, director, and performer, HaJ.  

Ginjan Bros: Ginjan Bros has generously been donating their immune boosting ginger drinks to frontline healthcare workers across the country. Customers can chip in and “Buy a Healthcare Worker a Ginjan” here

GovLia: GovLia helps businesses sell to the government through their hands on training and community outreach initiatives. Throughout COVID, they are hosting various webinars and are working to help sustain local communities by connecting local businesses with governments, hospitals, and healthcare facilities to source necessary goods and services, alleviate supply chain deficits, and keep people employed. 

SOP Technologies: SOP Technologies is an environmental technology company on a mission to stop ocean pollution. During COVID, they have partnered with their engineering and manufacturing network to provide face shields and medical waste incinerators and have helped initiate the Ventilators Collaboration Network with the goal of improving collaboration and knowledge sharing on the process of designing, manufacturing and distributing low cost, open source ventilators. They are acting as an accelerator for current projects so that ventilators can quickly get to those who need them most. To contribute to their efforts, click here

Spadet: Spadet has responded to COVID-19 by manufacturing and shipping hand sanitizers alongside their line of  beauty & wellness products for sensitive skin. They are also including a free bottle of hand sanitizer with every order to help keep their customers safe. 

Sustainable Snacks – #HealthCareHeroes campaign: Last month, Sustainable Snacks added an option to their website where customers can purchase cases of their superfood snacks for NYC’s public hospital frontline workers. Watt + Flux: Watt + Flux normally consults with their clients to help them save energy, maintenance, and operational costs, while introducing a healthier lighting system into their operations. They are currently pivoting towards providing hospital grade decontamination fogging services. Their mobile cleaning unit is available by appointment.

Fundraising Campaigns

Gaddis Gaming: Gaddis Gaming is dedicated to bringing new and exciting products to the leisure and entertainment industry. They specialize in manufacturing tabletop game related products that enhance the social game playing experience at home and in your local game store and tell the untold stories of history. Support their kickstarter for their latest model!

Mott Haven Bar and Grill: As many other restaurants, Mott Haven Bar and Grill was severely affected by COVID-19. Even though they are open for pickups and deliveries, the financial setback has been extremely difficult on this much loved small business. Mott Haven has started a GoFundMe project so they can keep all the business alive and keep all employees.
